The former North Somerset Football Development Centres (NSFDC) has reorganised with other established coaching programmes to provide a Pre Academy & Development programme organised or guided by current or former, Professional Football Club Academy Coaches - Current or former Professional Players, plus technical specialists in Bristol - BANES - Somerset & Wiltshire offering "Total Football Coaching Experience"

Introduction to members aiding the Coaching & Development Programme:-

Tony Fawthrop: Involved in the professional game for over 30 years. Former Chief Scout for Leeds United, Huddesfield Town & Bristol City also Everton scouting role.

Former roles at Bristol City FC: Academy Director - Assistant Manager also Manager taking Bristol City to AWS Shield Final. Current Satillite Academy Manager Southampton FC.

Josh Holt PhD: Southampton Academy Coach since 1998 and current Satilite Academy Head Coach. Completed his PhD thesis on how young players learn and develop technically, physically & mentally aiding understanding of this great game of football.

Mickey Bell: Former Bristol City professional player with over 350 appearances for Bristol City FC part of the 700 approx professional appearances. Member of the Southampton FC Academy Coaching Staff.

Dave Hedges: Former Bristol City FC Academy Coach. Founder of the Chew Valley Soccer School & Chew Valley FC. British scout for Fenerbahce. Member of the Southampton FC Academy Coaching Staff.

Steve Worrell: Brazilian Soccer School co-opted into Southampton FC Satilite Academy programme 2008/09 with great effect. Provides the Brazilian coaching methods that the Legends of the Brazil national team continue to provide inspiration to players of the modern game.

Chris Palmer: Former member of both the Manchester United & Bobby Charlton Soccer Schools coaching staff. Founder of the North Somerset Football Development Centres in 1997. Member of the Southampton FC Coaching Staff for 8 years.

The above representing a substantial number of years in experience and knowledge to pass on to current and future generations of young footballers. Generally only young players at Professional Club Academies have access and opportunity.

Over a Decade Of Football Development

In 2007 the former North Somerset Football Development Centres completed a decade of providing structured coaching courses also gaining an FA Charter Standard Award.

The Pre Academy & Development Programme provides unique opportunities for players to experience working with coaches who are at Professional Club Academies and the raised standards expected with our association to a Premier League Professional Club Academy 

NSFDC players have been given opportunities at Swindon Town, Plymouth Argyle, Bristol City, Bristol Rovers, Birmingham City, Cardiff City, Portsmouth FC and Southampton FC. Other clubs who have given trials to players Arsenal, West Bromwich Albion, &Yeovil Town.

Also losing count of the number of players who have and continue to received Most Improved Player along with the other club awards aiding grassroot development.
